Racing on debut in the Maribyrnong Plate (Gr 3, 1000m), the Tony McEvoy-trained Aspect scored a good victory. Ridden by Kerrin McEvoy, the two-year-old son of Vinery Stud’s Pluck (More Than Ready) jumped from the outside barrier in the 12-horse field and settled back in ninth place behind the runners in the centre of the track. Angled out into clear running with 300 metres left to run, Aspect took the lead at the 50 metres and went on to score a very good win, appearing to score with something in hand.

Aspect becomes the second winner and first stakes winner from two named foals out of the multiple winner Innishbeg (Lonhro) who won up to 1200 metres. She is out of the placed mare Hidden Savings (Secret Savings) making her a half-sister to the Listed winner Tina Melina (Jet Spur).

Innishbeg has a yearling colt by Testa Rossa (Perugino) and then missed to Pluck last year.
