Australian buyers continue to swoop at Newmarket

170,000gns purchase to be trained by Maher

Southern hemisphere interest in the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale continued late into day two on Tuesday, with Australian Bloodstock purchasing three-year-old gelding  King’s Charisma (Teofilo), lot 770, for 170,000gns (approx. AUD$328,500).

Agent Ronald Rauscher purchased the three-time winner from David O’Meara Racing and he will be trained by Ciaran Maher.

King’s Charisma was bought for just 20,000gns at the Tattersalls October Book 2 Yearling Sale in 2018 and he has shown enough on the track to warrant a significant rise in price this time around, recording three handicap wins during the season to earn a rating of 86.

Australian Bloodstock continue HIT assault on day three

Rauscher and Australian Bloodstock took further interest in the third day of the Horses In Training Sale, purchasing two horses from Richard Hannon yesterday afternoon.

The 96-rated colt Brian Epstein (Dark Angel), listed as lot 1050, was bought for 60,000gns (approx. AUD$116,000) in association with Mick Price Racing. The four-year-old has won twice in ten starts, with his last success coming at Musselburgh over seven furlongs last year. His best performance, however, was when finishing runner-up to Cap Francais (Frankel) in a one mile handicap at Haydock earlier this season.

Australian Bloodstock’s fifth purchase of the four-day-sale was three-year-old filly Grande Rumore (Night Of Thunder), lot 1060, for 40,000gns (approx. AUD$77,250). She raced consistently in her first season, only finishing outside the top three once in six appearances, which included a sole victory over seven furlongs at Leicester in August.

Dynamic Syndications recruit Jack Duggan

Dynamic Syndications added a new recruit to their books in the form of two-year-old gelding Jack Duggan (Jack Milton), who attracted a fee of 35,000gns (approx. AUD$67,600).

Through Amy Meade Bloodstock, Dean Watt and Dynamic Syndications picked up Jack Duggan, who won on debut at Tipperary before finishing unplaced in a couple of Group 2 contests, from Jim Bolger in Ireland.

Listed as lot 773, Jack Duggan, is out of Unbridled Treasure (Unbridled’s Song), who is a half-sister to Moyglare Stud Stakes (Gr 1, 7f) winner Soairse Abu (Mr Greeley).

Go Racing NZ purchase son of Muhaara

Go Racing New Zealand bought Shibli (Muhaara), lot 998, for 37,000gns (approx. AUD$71,500) from Shadwell Estate Company on day three of the Tattersalls HiT sale.

The three-year-old colt has run twice for Jean-Claude Rouget in France, finishing fifth behind subsequent Group 2 winner Port Guillaume (Le Havre) on debut, before landing a 2200-metre maiden on his last start in February.
