Catalogue released for NZB National Weanling Sale
New Zealand Bloodstock has compiled a 150-lot catalogue for its 2024 National Weanling Sale at Karaka on June 20.
Buyers will have access to secure the same potential performers with the progeny of established sires Proisir (Choisir), Savabeel (Zabeel), Almanzor (Wootton Bassett), Per Incanto (Street Cry), Sweynesse (Lonhro) and Shocking (Street Cry) on offer, along with the final foals of champion sire Darci Brahma (Danehill).
Emerging sires including Super Seth (Dundeel), Ace High (High Chaparral), Ardrossan (Redoute’s Choice), Satono Aladdin (Deep Impact), US Navy Flag (War Front), Hello Youmzain (Kodiac), Circus Maximus (Galileo), and King Of Comedy (Kingman) are well represented in the catalogue.
Meanwhile, first-season sires are strongly featured – with sons or daughters of Sword Of State (Snitzel), Noverre (Savabeel), Armory (Galileo), The Chosen One (Savabeel), St Mark’s Basilica (Siyouni) and Wooded (Wootton Bassett) due to make their first appearance in the sales ring.
Relations to Coeur Volante (Proisir), Holymanz (Almanzor), Honorable Spirit (Charm Spirit), Pudding (Tavistock), Whimsical (Savabeel) will also go under the hammer at Karaka next month.
“We are pleased with the catalogue assembled and expect keen interest and participation from pinhookers, traders and end-users alike, especially given the feeling of the industry right now,” NZB bloodstock sales manager Kane Jones said.
“There is healthy demand for our New Zealand product, given the incredible racetrack success throughout Australasia and further afield in recent seasons.
“The quality and strength of our local proven stallions is as buoyant as ever and the market is eagerly anticipating the first opportunity to purchase progeny of exciting local freshman sires Armory, Noverre, Sword Of State and The Chosen One.
“There is certainly something for everybody and the Karaka Millions eligibility is a big bonus.”
All weanlings offered are eligible to be nominated for NZB’s lucrative Karaka Millions race series as well as the new NZ$1 million Mega Maiden Series comprising of 40 non-Saturday maiden races located throughout New Zealand.
Weanlings entered in the Sale will be available for inspections at the on-farm parades and on-site at Karaka, with NZB agents available to inspect on behalf of buyers.
The sale will start at 11am New Zealand time.
