Classic contender Sparking Plenty joins Goffs London Sale line-up
Last-start Prix de Sandringham (Gr 2, 1600m) winner Sparkling Plenty (Kingman) is among the 21 lots catalogued for the Goffs London Sale which will take place at Kensington Palace Gardens on Monday, the eve of the prestigious Royal Ascot meeting.
The daughter of Kingman (Invincible Spirit) is a sister to 2022 Jersey Stakes (Gr 3, 7f) winner Noble Truth and following her Group 2 victory at Chantilly on June 2 is now considered a leading contender for this weekend’s Prix de Diane (Gr 1, 2100m), which takes place on June 16, the day before the sale.
More than ten horses with Royal Ascot entries also feature among the catalogue and these include Francisco’s Piece (Mayson), a juvenile colt who was last seen winning the Prix la Fleche (Listed, 1000m), will be offered with entries in both the Coventry Stakes (Gr 2, 6f) and Norfolk Stakes (Gr 2, 5f).
Rock Hunter (Expert Eye), who finished second in the National Stakes (Listed, 5f), will be offered by Amy Murphy and holds nominations for a pair of events at the Royal meeting, the Norfolk Stakes and Windsor Castle Stakes (Listed, 5f). Another colt catalogued with an entry in the Norfolk Stakes is recent Tipperary maiden winner, the Michael O’Callaghan-trained Evening Saigon (Harry Angel).
Recent Cork maiden winner Rock N Roll Rocket (Far Above), who also holds an entry for the Windsor Castle Stakes, will go under the hammer at the boutique, offered for sale by Jessica Harrington.
Group 3 winner Queues Likely (Massaat), most recently seen finishing second in the German 1,000 Guineas (Gr 2, 1600m), also appears in the catalogue. She will be offered by Stan Moore holding an entry for the Sandringham Handicap (1m), which will be run on the Friday of the prestigious meeting.
Also entered for the sale is Mina Rashid (Almanzor), an impressive winner at the Chester May meeting, will be offered by Andrew Balding and he holds entries for the Queen’s Vase (Gr 2, 1m 6f) and King George V Stakes (1m 4f).
Hampton Court Stakes (Gr 3, 1m 2f) prospect Taraj (Churchill), who was last seen chasing home Epsom Derby (Gr 1, 1m 4f) placegetter Los Angeles (Camelot) in the Derby Trial Stakes (Gr 3, 1m 2f) at Leopardstown on his only start of the season, will be offered by Dermot Weld.
The Jack Davison-trained Take Me To Church (Churchill), an impressive winner of the Madrid Handicap (7f) at Naas, who was last seen finishing a solid fifth in the Irish 2,000 Guineas (Gr 1, 1m) last time out, will go under the hammer with an entry for Royal Ascot’s Jersey Stakes (Gr 3, 7f). He has been entered for the sale alongside his stablemate Bergamasco (Cappella Sansevero), who holds an entry for Britannia Handicap Stakes (1m).
George Boughey will offer Pentle Bay (New Bay), who made a big impression on his debut at Leicester, which put him bang in the picture for the Chesham Stakes (Listed, 7f), while Richard Fahey’s Airman (Dandy Man), winner of his first two starts over five furlongs, holds an entry for the Palace of Holyrood House Stakes Handicap (5f), will also go under the hammer at the sale.
Other highlights include, a two-year-old filly by Kingman out of six-time Group 1 winner Laurens (Siyouni), who will be offered for sale by Oaks Farm Stables.
Shares in leading sires Phoenix Of Spain (Lope De Vega) (1/50th) and Galiway (Galileo) (1/70th) will also be on offer at the sale, and there are also breeding rights to Havana Grey (Havana Gold) and Ardad (Kodiac) set to go under the hammer.
There are still wildcard slots open but the final catalogue is getting closer to completion for the event held in association with Privat 3 Money at Kensington Palace Gardens.
