Day Five – All Horses Out For Exercise
The Jane Chapple Hyam-trained Kaspersky (Footstepsinthesand) was seen making his way gently up Warren Hill with his trainer watching on and he looks likely to tackle the Toorak Handicap (Gr 1, 1600m) and also holds a nomination for the Cox Plate (Gr 1, 2040m) at Moonee Valley on 28 October.
Walking on the heath together were the Hugo Palmer-trained Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) contender Wall Of Fire (Canford Cliffs) and Group Three winner Steel Of Madrid (Lope De Vega), who was trained by Richard Hannon and will enter training with Tony McEvoy when he arrives in Australia.
The pair were joined by Listed winner Mask Of Time (Holy Roman Emperor), who looks set to join the Ciaron Maher stable.
The trio looked in good form when making their way gently up Warren Hill.
International Racehorse Transport’s operations coordinator Natalie Overton told ANZ Bloodstock News yesterday that everything was going to plan.
“All the horses had bloods taken this morning and also the nasal swabs and the colts had CEM swabs, those results will come through in the next couple of days. But they were all absolutely fine over the weekend,” said Overton.
