Following her good second in a maiden plate at Warwick Farm on 22 March, Devolving following her good debut second at this track in a 2YO Maiden (1100m) on 22 March with a really good win here. From barrier two in the seven-horse field, the daughter from the first crop of Your Song (Fastnet Rock) was slow to move before improving to settle in third place. She moved through on the inner nearing the home turn, took the lead on straightening and then went onto score easily by a length and a quarter.

Devolving is the fifth foal to race and fourth winner out of her dam the five-time winner Calaluna (Mujahid). The filly’s second dam is the dual winner It’s Not On (Tierce) who has produced seven winners from eight foals to race and being out of Protective (Opera Prince) is a half-sister to the dual Group One-winner Victory Vein (Mr Henrysee) who was the champion two-year-old filly in Australia in 2001/02.

Calaluna missed to Fighting Sun (Northern Meteor) and Your Song (Fastnet Rock) after producing Devolving and was covered by Press Statement (Hinchinbrook) last September.
