Entries open for 2022 Inglis yearling sales
Inglis will largely maintain the status quo for its live auction sales in 2022, a schedule which this year capitalised on a surging thoroughbred market to deliver a number of records.
The company’s sales season will open with the Classic Yearling Sale (February 6 to 8) and the Premier Sale in Melbourne will run from February 27 to March 1, while the Australian Easter sale will be conducted on April 5 and 6.
The week-long May sale, which was held in its current format for the first time at Riverside Stables in Sydney this year, will also retain its slot starting on May 1 for yearlings with the weanling, Chairman’s Sale and broodmare sale to follow.
But in a change, the Melbourne Gold Yearling Sale at Oaklands Junction, which was held online in 2020 and in May this year, will be brought forward to April 21 and 22 in what is expected to be a permanent place on a condensed calendar.
The Great Southern Sale, also in Melbourne, will return to its traditional June slot after being delayed this year due to a Covid-19 lockdown in Victoria.
Entries are now being taken by Inglis for its 2022 yearling sales. Rival Magic Millions last week also announced entries were open for its sales next year.
“It has been a challenging 12 months in terms of the hurdles posed by the pandemic, but we were determined to put together the best markets that we possibly could at each of our sales and so it has been extremely satisfying seeing so many of our clients enjoy such wonderful results,’’ Inglis general manager of bloodstock sales and marketing Sebastian Hutch said.
“We pride ourselves on offering the highest standard of service across all of our sales and while the results this year have been fantastic, we are excited at the prospect of improving further in 2022.
“Breeders and vendors can have confidence in our settled sales structure, with auctions conducted in excellent facilities at Riverside and Oaklands which provide each and every horse a fair opportunity to showcase its quality.
“We work exceptionally hard right throughout the year to maintain existing relationships with buyers or develop new clients and it is reflected in the ratio of buyers to horses sold at each of our sales, which is unmatched.
“We are grateful for the opportunities afforded to us by breeders and vendors, which is not something we take lightly, hence our absolute determination to work to achieve the best results for all of our vendors.”
Entries for the Inglis sales close on Friday, August 20.
