Glenall (Redoute’s Choice) recorded a good debut victory at Canterbury on Wednesday. The winner of a recent Randwick barrier trial over 1050 metres on 19 August, Glenall broke from barrier five in the nine-horse field under Tim Clark and went straight to the front. He travelled well in the lead and on straightening dashed clear and recorded a strong three and a quarter length victory.
Glenall is the seventh living foal out of the Group Three-winning Spinning World (Nureyev) mare Our Quivira and he becomes his dam’s fifth winner. From six foals to race, Our Quivira’s other winners include the three-time Listed winner Panipique (Testa Rossa) and the Listed-paced Tribal Rock (Rock Of Gibraltar).
Glenall’s second dam is the Group Three-placed Wichita (Umatilla) who produced six winners from seven foals to race including Our Quivira’s sister Kishkat whose wins included the Toy Show Handicap (Listed, 1400m) and she also ran third in the Chelmsford Stakes (Gr 2, 1600m) behind Gallant Tess (Galileo) and Triple Honour (Honours List).
Our Quivira was covered last October by All Too Hard (Casino Prince) and she has a yearling colt by Stratum (Redoute’s Choice).
