Group 1 winner Ruthless Dame added to Magic Millions sale
Group 1 winner Ruthless Dame (Tavistock) is the latest addition for next week’s Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast.
The star four-year-old will be offered as a racing and breeding prospect as part of her trainer, Ciaron Maher’s racing consignment on the opening day of the sale alongside the likes of Imperatriz (I Am Invincible), Chain Of Lightning (Fighting Sun), Madame Pommery (No Nay Never), Affaire A Suivre (Astern), Belclare (Per Incanto), Platinum Jubilee (Zoustar) and Ulanova (Santos).
An unbeaten Group winner as a two-year-old, Ruthless Dame finished a nose second to Sunshine In Paris (Invader) in the Surround Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) at her fourth start.
Two runs later she beat a top-class group of of fillies and mares in the Robert Sangster Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) at Morphettville, with Group 1 winners Bella Nipotina (Pride Of Dubai), Espiona (Extreme Choice), September Run (Exceed And Excel), Marabi (I Am Invincible), Chain of Lightning and Roch ‘n’ Horse (Per Incanto) among those to finish behind her that day.
During her short racetrack career to date Ruthless Dame has raced in the colours of managing part owner Campbell Stott, banking three wins and a further four placings from 16 starts which has seen her accrue $1,278,625 in prize-money.
Ruthless Dame will go under the hammer late on day one of the National Broodmare Sale next Tuesday, May 28 as Lot 624.
She is out of the stakes performer Ruthless Lady (Keeper), herself a daughter of Group 2-winning juvenile Lady Dehere (Dehere), making her a half-sister to three-time South African Grade 2 winner Oracy (Zabeel) and fellow stakes winners Lady Maroal (Power) and The Lady (Stravinsky). Lady Dehere is a half-sister to Sea Siren (Fastnet Rock), the triple Group 1-winning dam of the recently retired dual top-flight winning globetrotter, Warm Heart (Galileo).
Meanwhile, multiple stakes-performed Rubick (Encosta De Lago) mare Rubicon Crossing has also joined the supplementary catalogue for day one of the National Broodmare Sale.
Twice stakes placed in New Zealand as a juvenile, Rubicon Crossing more recently showed her quality by winning at Victorian metropolitan level at Mornington in September.
The National Broodmare Sale catalogue now features almost 200 stakes-performed fillies or mares to go under the hammer from May 28 to 30.
The sales action on the Gold Coast will commence on Sunday with day one of the National Weanling Sale to commence at 11am (QLD time).
