Group-winning juvenile Miss Roseiano to be sold online

Miss Roseiano – only the second ever Group-winning two-year-old filly by Exceed And Excel (Danehill) to be offered for public auction off the track in Australia – will feature in an Inglis Digital standalone sale later this month.

Miss Roseiano, who is a daughter of the stakes-placed Special Lover (Pins), will be offered as both a racing and breeding prospect on July 17 and 18.

An extremely fast filly, the Gelagotis Racing-trained Miss Roseiano displayed her elite juvenile speed from the outset of her racing career.

She debuted with victory in the Blue Diamond Preview (Gr 3, 1000m) for juvenile fillies, in a time approximately five lengths faster than the colts and geldings equivalent on the same day which was won by subsequent Group 1 winner Daumier (Epaulette).

It was a performance co-trainer Manny Gelagotis described at the time as “unbelievable’’ and “exceptional’’, declaring Miss Roseiano “one out of the box’’.

Miss Roseiano then finished second to dual Group winner Revolutionary Miss (Russian Revolution) in the Blue Diamond Prelude (Gr 2, 1100m) at her second start before proving unlucky in the Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m), finishing tenth.

Manny Gelagotis believes Miss Roseiano presents as a “rare and exciting’’ offering for a wide range of prospective purchasers.

“Clearly, she was an elite two-year-old. When she won her first start in the manner that she did, we knew we had something very, very special on our hands,’’ he said.

“Only exceptionally talented horses win Group races on debut and she’s just such a naturally gifted filly.

“She’s got so much racing upside still. When we bought her, we did so thinking she would be a Thousand Guineas filly and while she’s proven over the sprint trips as a younger horse, we still believe she will no doubt get up to a mile, which brings races like the $10 million Golden Eagle into play for her.

“She’s such an outstanding type, she’ll tick all the boxes for any trainer or commercial breeder and I guarantee you, the moment they lay eyes on her they’ll fall in love with her.’’

A $300,000 Peter Carrick-bred Inglis Premier Yearling Sale purchase, Miss Roseiano is from one of the best families in the Australasian Stud Book.

Her fourth dam is the outstanding blue hen mare Eight Carat (Pieces Of Eight), from whom 67 stakes winners are descended, including the likes of Commands (Danehill), Deep Field (Northern Meteor) and Verry Elleegant (Zed).

Miss Roseiano’s I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) half-sister is the most expensive filly ever sold at an Inglis Premier Sale, realising $1.1 million earlier this year, while her dam is back in foal to the champion Yarraman Park sire.

The ‘Miss Roseiano Sale’ will be live on Inglis Digital from 3pm on Friday, July 14.

Bidding will open at 9am on Monday, July 17, with the final countdown of bidding to begin from 4pm on Tuesday, July 18.

Miss Roseiano is available for inspection in the Hunter Valley by appointment only.
