Lady Cosmology (AUS) 2 f Universal Ruler – Out Spoken Lady by Galileo
The Simon Miller-trained two-year-old filly Lady Cosmology (Universal Ruler) made an impressive winning debut in taking out the Supremacy Stakes (Listed, 1000m) at Ascot on Saturday in really pleasing style.
She was smartly away from barrier four under leading jockey William Pike and travelled strongly in front despite some early pressure.
She fought off a challenge at the 200 metres, quickened clear shortly afterwards and went on to score easily by two lengths from Princess Pierro (Pierro), with Agent Pippa (Demerit) back in third, in the winning time of 58.17 on a Good 4 track.
Lady Cosmology is one of three named foals out of the Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) mare Out Spoken Lady, making her a half-sister to one winner, while her winning second dam Continental Dane (Danehill Dancer) is a half-sister to stakes winner Stormy Summers (Desert Style).
Her third dam Continental (Clear Choice) won twice at 1400 metres and is a half-sister to the stakes winners Aneed (Danewin) and Magdaleena (Snaadee), while this is also the family of South African Grade One winner Entisaar (More Than Ready) and stakes winner Social Soldier (Pirate Army).
In winning the Supremacy Stakes, Lady Cosmology provided her Scenic Lodge Stud-based stallion Universal Ruler with his fourth stakes winner. He stood for a fee of $3,500 (inc GST) last year.
