The Tim Martin-trained-filly Limbo Soul opened her account on debut in impressive fashion with a win over 1100 metres at Rosehill on Wednesday.
The daughter of I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) was smartly away from barrier one and was urged straight to the front by jockey Adam Hyeronimus. She set good fractions from the front, and as they turned into the home straight she was pressed by Hyeronimus for her effort responding in fine style, to eventually pull away from the field to beat Memento (Your Song) by a decisive three and a quarter lengths.
The filly is the second foal out of the Fastnet Rock (Danehill) winning mare Limbo Down and her only winner. Limbo Down, herself out of a half-sister to the Group Three-winning colt Handsome Ransom (Red Ransom) and Listed winner Danajaya (Danehill).
Further back the filly is from the same family as Listed winners Barbara Conti (Teodoro Trivulzio), Barry Window (Top Ville), Belisario Vinta (Dance In Time) and Boleslao Il Rosso (Claude).
Limbo Down missed to the late Northern Meteor (Encosta De Lago) in 2013, before foaling Limbo Soul in 2014. She then produced a colt by Lope De Vega (Shamardal) in 2015 and was most recently served again by the Yarraman Stud-based sire I Am Invincible in 2016.
