Malua Racing lining up big Magic Millions team
Malua Racing could have a total of six horses running at next month’s Magic Millions Carnival, with recent Magic Millions Victorian 2YO Classic (1100m) runner-up Zouclaire (Zousain) leading the team.
Having impressed her trainers when finishing 2.8 lengths behind Invincible Woman (I Am Invincible) on her debut in last weekend’s 1100-metre contest at Caulfield Heath, the daughter of Zousain (Zoustar) looks set to tackle the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1200m).
“She was superb,” Troy Corstens, who trains in partnership with his father Leon and Will Larkin, told Racing.com of that debut effort.
“We are going to have a crack [at the Magic Millions] and see if we can get in and hopefully we are right with prize-money.”
Zouclaire is likely to be joined in Queensland by her three-quarter brother Zou Sensation (Zoustar), who was also second in a Benchmark 84 (1200m) at Caulfield Heath on Saturday.
The pair will make up two runners from the yard, with Sandown Guineas (Gr 2, 1600m) runner-up Bittercreek (Snitzel), Stay Silent (Deep Field), Stay Humble (Deep Field) and Capitalex (Capitalist) set to complete the team.
“The prize-money up there is amazing and the team is up and going well, so we thought we might as well have a bit of a crack,” Corstens added.
