Rock Giselle put up a promising performance in winning here, her first win in five starts after placings in two runs since resuming.
She was slowly away and settled back in ninth place, one off the rails, before fanning deep nearing the home turn. She then sprinted well, took the lead at the 100 metres and went on to score comfortably, looking suited to further.
A daughter of the 2005 AJC Australian Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Dizelle (Zabeel), herself a sister to the dual Group One winner in Hong Kong Subscribe – Vengeance Of Rain (Zabeel), Rock Giselle is a half-sister four winners, including the stakes winner Dizlago (Encosta De Lago) and the Group Two-placed Lucky Lago (Encosta De Lago).
Her second dam is the Blue Diamond Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Danelagh (Danehill), while this is also the same family as dual stakes winner Bernicia (Elusive Quality), the dam of the Group Two winner Old North (Lonhro).
Dizelle was covered by Written Tycoon (Iglesia) last November having produced a filly by Fastnet Rock in September. Her two-year-old Pierro (Lonhro) filly is called Pinot and is in training with Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.
