Maiden Of The Week

Seasons (AUS) 3 f Sebring – Acouplamas by Al Maher

Seasons had shown plenty of promise with a pair of seconds at her first two outings and broke through for a promising first win this week.

She began well and was settled in third place under Tim Clark, tracking the leaders, before moving up to the front on straightening. She then went on to score comfortably, by a quarter of a length in a winning time of 1:03.96.

Seasons is out of the two time-winning Al Maher (Danehill) mare Acouplamas, whose other foal to race, The August (I Am Invincible) is also a winner.

Meanwhile, the filly’s third dam is a half-sister to high-quality producer Kensington Gardens (Grosvenor), who produced six winners; five of them stakes winners.

The five black-type winners are headed Group One winners Blackfriars (Danehill) and Larrocha (Danehill), with the latter producing Group Two winner Rocha (Encosta De Lago). Kensington Gardens also produced Group Two winner Manton (Danehill), Waterford Road (Danehill) and Lions Gate (Danehill).

In 2016, she foaled a colt by Coolmore sire So You Think (High Chaparral), who was purchased by De Burgh Equine at this year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $100,000.

Last year she produced a colt by Widden Stud’s first season sire Zoustar (Northern Meteor) and has most recently seen covered again by So You Think.
