Having her second start after finishing third on debut at Kembla Grange over 900 metres on 27 November, Sebring Express broke from barrier four in the six horse field before setting down in third place. She moved up deep from the 600 metres and then took the lead rounding the home turn. The daughter of Sebring (More Than Ready) went on to score by three quarters of a length under apprentice Deanne Panya.
Sebring Express is the fourth foal out of her dam Miss Exxi (Exceed And Excel) and becomes the mare’s third winner from as many foals to race. Placed at three, Miss Exxi is out of the three-time winner Honeymoon Express (Star Way) whose five winners are headed by the dual Group One winner Carnegie Express (Carnegie) while Sebring Express’ third dam is the Australian Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Our Sophia (Noble Bijou), a half-sister to the dam of Group One winner Dowry (Bahhare), Group Two winner Fatal (Bakharoof) and Listed winner Richfield Destiny (Bakharoff).
Miss Exxi was not served in 2014 but produced a filly by Deep Field (Northern Meteor) in September.
