B: Golden Grove Stud Farm
W: Sheamus Mills Bloodstock Maiden, 1200m, Sandown Lakeside, 12 July
The Robert Smerdon-trained Street Impact scored a narrow but promising win on her racecourse debut on Wednesday.
The daughter of Street Cry (Machiavellian) began well and settled in fourth place in the early stages, behind a steady tempo, before moving up to challenge on the approach to the home straight.
She quickened up well to lead narrowly at the 100 metres and fought on well in the sprint for home to score by a head in a photo finish.
Street Impact is one of three named foals out of the Group One-winning mare Culminate (Elnadim), making her a half-sister to one winner.
Her second dam is the Group Three placegetter Solstice (Marceau), who is herself a half-sister to multiple Group One winner and Group Three-producing mare Solveig (Imposing), Group Two winner and Group Three-producer Soltanto (Tights) and stakes-winning pair Quibble (Ruling) and Reasoning (Grosvenor).
This is also the family of 1994 Sydney Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) winner Cross Swords (Grosvenor), as well as Group One winners Eileen Dubh (Storm Creek) and Sacred Master (Mastercraftsman).
