Thine Is The Power (AUS) 2 f Street Boss – Princess Delight by Agnes World
After showing promise with a second on debut at this track on July 4, the Lindsay Park-trained Thine Is The Power built on that impressively on Wednesday with a comfortable maiden victory under jockey Cory Parish.
The daughter of Street Boss (Street Cry) broke well from her inside barrier (1) before displaying good early pace to hold the lead, and travelled beautifully rounding the bend and into the straight. Parish gave her a squeeze at the 300 metre mark and she duly took two lengths out of the field, before keeping on nicely under pressure to register a one and a half length victory over previous winner Ray’s Dream (Squamosa) at the line.
This debut success was made all the more impressive by the profile of the third home Kinky Boom (Spirit Of Boom), who landed the Inglis Premier (RL 1200m) at Caulfield back in February, giving real substance to the form.
Bred by Hall Thoroughbred Syndicate, the filly is one of eight foals to race out of the unraced mare Princess Delight (Agnes World), who is herself a half-sister to the stakes-placed Gladwell (Anabaa).
Princess Delight’s eight foals have produced seven winners, most notably the black-type performer Awakened, who won 6 races up to 1400 metres in Malaysia and Singapore.
Her US race-winning third dam, Kasimova (Nijinsky) is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Lead Kindly Light (Majestic Light), who herself produced Grade 1 winner Gold Fever (Forty Niner), as well as the Group 1 placed Emanating (Cox’s Ridge).
Kasimova herself produced stakes performer Forever Dancing (Success Express), the dam of SAJC St Leger (Listed, 2400m) winner Thousand Veils (Zabeel), who has in turn produced stakes winners Respin (Powerl) and Perast (Snitzel).
Since foaling Thine Is The Power, Princess Delight missed to Street Boss in 2016 and most recently missed to Cornerstone Stud shuttler Free Eagle (High Chaparral).
