Tutta La Vita
Tutta La Vita
TRAINER: Chris Waller
RACE: The Agency Real Estate Handicap (1400m)
Tutta La Vita came within a nose width of providing her sire The Autumn Sun (Redoute’s Choice) with a fourth individual first crop winner, enduring an agonising defeat to Congregation (Snitzel) at Rosehill a fortnight ago when running into a blockade of horses in the straight.
Aiming for redemption back at her local track today, the Chris Waller-trained filly will be hoping she can add a tick in the win column to go with her two runner-up finishes to date, as she steps up to 1400 metres for the first time for the card-opening two-year-old handicap, with markets rating her a strong $1.55 favourite.
The 14th foal out of the grand-producing mare Negotiate (Red Ransom), who was unraced, Tutta La Vita is a three-quarter sister to Robert Sangster Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) winner Secret Agenda (Not A Single Doubt), as well as to stakes placegetters Sweetener (Snitzel) and Stellar Pauline (Not A Single Doubt), while she is a half-sister to the Group 3-placed Donandkim (Smart Missile). Negotiate is herself a daughter of juvenile Group 1 winner Euphoria (Marauding).
Offered at last year’s Inglis Easter yearling sale within the Arrowfield Stud draft, who bred the filly along with Planette Thoroughbred, Tutta La Vita was purchased for $300,000 by Kevin Kelly on behalf of client Kevin Payne, who raced the now Arrowfield Stud stallion Hitotsu (Maurice) before his acquisition by Ciaron Maher and subsequent three Group 1 successes.
Tutta La Vita will take on nine rivals today, including the seven-race veteran Flying Trapeze (Trapeze Artist), one of three runners for Trapeze Artist (Snitzel) today, and Godolphin homebred Mogwai (Epaulette), who is the only other horse given single figure odds.
Kerrin McEvoy takes the ride, with Tutta La Vita set to jump from barrier six.
