W: Ladbrokes Cash In Maiden, 1100m, Caulfield, 17 January

The Lindsay Park-trained and Gerry Harvey-raced filly Twilight Song (Fastnet Rock) produced a highly promising effort in winning over 1100 metres on her debut at Caulfield on Thursday evening.

The three-year-old settled well in fifth place under jockey Jake Duffy behind a good early tempo, before she improved to into third position nearing the home turn.

She challenged strongly on straightening up, hit to the front at the 200 metres and went on to score comfortably by three quarters of a length from the Nick Ryan-trained Masuta (Mastercraftsman).

Twilight Song is one of ten named foals out of the winning Hurricane Sky (Star Watch) mare River Serenade, who is herself a sister to 2003 Oakleigh Plate (Gr 1, 1100m) winner River Dove, the dam of Group Two winner and Vinery Stud stallion Headwater (Exceed And Excel).

The filly is a half-sister to Group Two winner Oneworld (Danehill Dancer) and Group Three placegetter Rule The River (Commands), while her second dam is the Listed winner Ride The Rapids (River Rough).

This is also the same family as Group Two winner Willow Creek (Tale Of The Cat), Group Three winner Kulgrinda (Exceed And Excel) and the Listed-winning pair River Delta (Al Maher) and Cross Current (Keltrice).

Her leading sire Fastnet Rock (Danehill) has six yearlings catalogued at next month’s Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
